| Winter
People is primarily a series of street placed woodcuts based
on and inspired by the the cold midwestern weather and the way
we change ourselves to cope. I am somewhat fascinated by hats,
scarves and big heavy coats and the way they hide, cover and
protect. This series in part explores this idea and the aesthetics
of urban winter. The material used to create these is found/salvaged
from Chicago streets and alleys so in many ways when I place
these I am just returning them to their original home. The idea
is to keep doing them as long as the weather is cold and I keep
finding the material needed to make them. |
